Запровадження вищої бібліотечної освіти в Україні у другій декаді ХХ ст.

Стаття присвячена одній із важливих проблем загального бібліотекознавства — історії становлення вищої бібліотечної освіти в Україні. Розглянуто громадські і державні ініціативи щодо впровадження підготовки бібліотекарів вищої категорії на базі закладів вищої освіти. Простежено процес заснування факультету політичної освіти Харківського інституту народної освіти імені О. О. Потебні, на базі якого діяла книжково-бібліотечна секція, проаналізовано умови вступу до нього. Виявлено, що підготовка фахівців бібліотечної справи відбувалась як на основі соціально-економічних курсів, так і на базі профільних предметів у галузі книгознавства та бібліотекознавства. Навчальний процес забезпечувався кваліфікованими різногалузевими фахівцями. Перевага практичних занять над теоретичними сприяла отриманню професійних навичок кваліфікованого бібліотекаря впродовж усього періоду навчання.
